V.R. Christensen divides her time between teaching yoga to at-risk populations, writing historical pieces for OldWestEndVA.com, a collaborative marketing endeavor between the historic Old West End neighborhood of Danville, Virginia and local government to save the city’s endangered historic homes, as well as writing fiction and essays. She is the author of two bestselling works of Historical Fiction, Of Moths and Butterflies, Cry of the Peacock, and Gods and Monsters. She also has a collection of award winning short stories entitled Sixteen Seasons. It’s in these that you can get a sense of her transition from traditional Historical Fiction to Neo-Victorian Dystopian Steampunk. Absinthe Moon is the newly published first volume of the three-part Icarus Project Series. V.R. is also an essayist, and freelance journalist. Her collection of essays chronicling her transformation from obedient and domesticated housewife to a “wild woman” of the modern age will soon be published under the title Scatter Creek.
